Rock My World Wednesday – Finishing Projects

1

Hey guys, welcome to another edition of Rock My World Wednesday! I don’t know about you, but this is a busy time of year for me and there’s been a ton of stuff getting me going. And on that note…

1. Receiving a compliment that obviously had some thought behind it. I’m not someone that needs much approval, but every once in a while someone hits you with a compliment right out of the blue that isn’t “normal” but shows that you’re really on the right track. Awesome. If you can do that for someone today, it’ll brighten their week, and remember that what goes around comes around.

2. Finishing a project that you’ve been putting off. Most of us run around with projects hanging over our head, either self-imposed, at work, or around the house. We keep putting them off, ignoring them, and hoping they’ll go away. Hey, I’m just as guilty of this sometimes as the next guy. I used to be the KING of procrastination.

Along the way I’ve picked up that it’s just easier to knock some of these things off. You’ll feel better, open your mind to more creativity, and have accomplished your big thing for the day.

3. Realizing that you’re putting way too much work into a project according to the industry “standard”, and being ok with that. The industry I’m in (Fitness Marketing) is full of a lot of scam artists. There are a lot of really shitty, half-done products out there for sale. Sometimes these products aren’t even a scam, it’s just that the person who created them focused entirely on speed of implementation without even a cursory quality check.

Well, I’m probably a bit too far on the other side of the equation. I tend to over-focus on perfection rather than just getting stuff out there because if my name is on it I want it to be good. Most of my mentors holler at me to speed things up on a regular basis, and I have no doubt that they’re right. However, I’d much rather take a little time and get things right rather than throw out another garbage product. You know what? I’m cool with that.

4. NLP. Learn about it. It’ll change your life.

5. This picture. Hey, man, whatever works.

6. Fat Gripz. Thicker handles = Stronger grip = Stronger you. However, thick bars are few and far between in a lot of gyms, and fairly expensive if you want to buy your own. Although if you have your own garage gym, I might think about getting one and a pair of thick dumbbell handles at some point.

Can’t find a fat bar at your gym and don’t want to shell out for one? Enter the Fat Gripz. These little buggers simply go on any normal-sized bar and instantly turn it into a very effective fat bar. Plus, they’re easy to carry around in a gym bag, easy to add to things like chin-up bars, and are tough as hell.

7. Yet another reason to stay off treadmills. Oh, come on. Anytime someone gets tagged in the nuts it’s funny (unless it’s you). Admit it.

What’s been rocking your world lately? ‘Fess up!
